HG | Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott     Hi, hi! I've got lots of good things to share in the next while, including the recipe for this delicious tart by Mimi! But for now I wanted to share some current work for bon appétit. (Together with a group of amazing folks we shot the April cover + they created two, see them both below.) Michael and I been working a lot as a photography team these days and while it often pulls me away from here, it's been really great. More soon! xo, N       HG | Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott       HG | Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott     HG | Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott   Photos: Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott Food: Rebecca Jurkevich Props: Angharad Bailey
HG | Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott   We worked outdoors most days in January. In low sun and long shadows and perfect shades of blue. Among palms and bananas and really green trees. In weather that in Toronto, we only get at the very start to spring. It was the kind of time, around the kind of people, that make it easy to be grateful. xo, N           ___________ This photo. These boots. This is the best honey. These are some of the prettiest salt bowls. I'm into these polish colours. I like the looks of this room. The photo doesn't relate per se, it's one Michael and I took a few months back, but that I really love. You can find the mustard in this shot, here. And I'd like to eat this for lunch.
HG | bon appétit magazine Hello, happy spring! Remember last year when I told you about a trip Michael and I took to the Hudson River Valley? I didn't mention it then but we had travelled there to shoot a story about April Bloomfield for the current issue Bon Appétit. If you haven't picked up a copy, you should, April's Pot Roasted Artichokes are life-changing.   Anyway, more from me soon! I'll be back with for the love of pie posts, new things for HG, and some fun bits of news too. xo, N HG | bon appétit magazine   HG | bon appétit magazine   HG | bon appétit magazine   2080.01-0579_final Images: Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott (that's me!) a word on fall and italy!

I can feel fall sneaking into the air here. The days are still summer hot by the afternoon, but the evenings are cool and the mornings, crisp.   There's still heat enough for ice cream in the park and lazy saturdays at the market. There's still weather for shoes with no socks and dresses with no tights. But I feel that familiar fade, that familiar tugging of fall.     It's good though. I'm going to make apple pies and coffee cakes. I'm going to make crème caramel and late summer crisps. And in a couple weeks I'm going to leave it all behind for Italy. (!!)     So, I need your help with recommendations. I'll be in Abruzzo (about 10 minutes from Roseto delgi Abruzzi) for the first bit of my journey and then down in Puglia (about 20 minutes from Lecce) for the last bit. Anything I shouldn't miss? Olive groves, farms, markets, restaurants, shops, beaches, parks or anything at all you loved while visiting Italy?       xo, see you soon! n       this dress this hat the third and last photos in this post this dress the strawberries in this post these oxfords these pants a new for the love of pie post soon! this photo the photos in this post were taken by michael graydon and styled by me for garden making magazine. wave white and astrid navy cuffs want to be notified of new blog posts? sign up here. and we made the cover!
